1. Start inside the app

Once account services open and you are signed in: Settings → Account → “Delete data or account” → choose “Delete Focus data” or “Close Utopia account”, read the impact and confirm submission. The service may require reauthentication. This website explains the flow; it does not collect login credentials or replace in-app deletion.

These code paths exist, but public service and the full device journey are not yet verified. If you cannot access the app, contact privacy@utopiaduo.com. Email is not a mandatory step in normal account deletion.

2. Choose the scope

Deleting Focus data covers its owl, records, notes, album and settings while retaining the Utopia account and other Apps’ data. Deleting the Utopia account affects the associated product identities and data through each App’s own flow. Shared identity does not expose private content across Apps.

Signing out retains local content. Cancelling launch notifications is a separate action; notification registration is not open.

3. Wait, cancel and confirm

The current implementation has a seven-day waiting period; the app’s returned status supplies the deadline. While still pending and before the deadline, use the deletion-status page and any required verification to cancel. Sign in again after cancelling Utopia-account deletion.

Final processing begins after the deadline and depends on maintenance and product receipts. The deadline does not mean every copy disappears immediately. Check the app’s completed status. Content already deleted during final processing may not be recoverable.

After submitting, return to the in-app deletion-status screen and use “Check deletion status”. If submission is still in progress or the network failed, reauthenticate and retry; tapping a button is not confirmation of acceptance. While pending, use “Cancel this deletion”. Only a completed server status confirms completion of online deletion processing.

4. Devices, backups and retained records

After final server confirmation and matching local ownership, the app offers a confirmation to clear related local database content and some keys. Offline devices or apps not reopened do not necessarily clean up at the same time.

Exports, system backups, some secure-storage items, separate diagnostics and legally retained data are not all erased immediately. Minimal deletion cases/markers support processing and prevent restored old content from being reused. Production backup rules, retention bases and final cleanup times remain unconfirmed; no immediate-erasure or fixed 30/37-day guarantee is made.

If local content is not bound to the account being closed, the app offers “Finish and keep unbound content” and does not automatically delete that separate content. For local-only use without an account, account deletion is not a local-reset control. Current Settings has no separate one-tap control to erase all local content; this draft does not invent one.
